You might be wondering what led to Ronda

Let's find out in the next few minutes

Ronda was born out of the frustration of two Gen Z users who we would like to call Raymond and Afolakemi, who were tired of using outdated and clunky banking apps. They wanted a banking app that was designed for their generation, with features that would make their lives easier and more efficient. They both had several banking applications on their phone; each serving different purpose, and it doesn't stop there.

Living in a 3rd world country where there were rampant cases of the state police harrassing citizens or any young person who looked good, by requesting for their phone, then proceed to ask them to login into their banking application so as to check their bank balance, leading to them robbing off the citizen they swore to protect. This amongst various other reasons troubled them a lot, some of which include;

  • They were tired of having to log into multiple different websites to see how much they were spending on a weekly or monthly basis.

  • They wanted an app that would aggregate all of their subscriptions into one place, so they could easily see where their money was going. Tracking their spending on subscriptions, bills, and other expenses would help them to see where their money is going to, and make changes to their spending habits if necessary.

  • They wanted an app that would aggregate all of their bank accounts into one place. This would make it easy to see their overall financial picture, and to transfer money between accounts.

  • They wanted an app that would offer them variety of investment options, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. This allows users to start saving for their future, and to grow their wealth over time.so they could start saving for their future.

  • They wanted an app that would gran them access to credit facility, so they could finance their big purchases, such as a car or a house.

  • They also wanted an app that provides them a feature where they could input a pseudo password into their app when waylay by the police, such that when they input in this password, it reflects a pre-set amount entirely different from their real bank balance. and any transfer made to an account will be reverted back into their account after 48hrs.

    It was a lot of demand to be expected from the traditional banking system. it felt like wishful thinking but it set the ball in motion of what is now called RONDA

My contribution to this project

Role

I was responsible for the entire design process from conception to launch. initially it was drafted in to lead a team of budding designers but the responsibility switched once i commence due to various reasons such as time constraint and unforeseen contingencies.

I the end, i was able to deliver what the client wanted and everyone was happy at the end of the day.
